Seven Seas Scuba is very excited to have partnered with Thatch Caye Resort to introduce divers to an amazing part of the world where land meets sea in the most jaw dropping of scenes. Booking available for groups as small as 2 or as large as 20 at your convenience!

The Resort
Thatch Caye is an island complex that forms a 10 acre marine park just 9 miles from Dangriga in south-central Belize and only two miles from the second largest reef in the western world. The resort is inside the northern boundary of the protected South Water Marine Reserve, in the Coco Plum Range of islands.

Thatch Caye is a "hand made" eco-resort developed without the use of any heavy machinery. Solar and wind power are used to provide clean, quiet power, in addition to traditional off-grid generating methods.

The island is located next door to one of only 12 world renowned bird sanctuaries in the Caribbean where hundreds of frigates, boobies and pelicans make their home.

Enjoy relaxing on one of the resort's three beautiful beaches! The entrance to Thatch Caye is a protected waterway with thatch roofed boat houses, walkways and bridges. An aquarium graces the marina with an over water palapa to savor Belizean sunsets or gaze at the water dance below. Our east facing boardwalk runs along the edge of Thatch Caye for nearly a thousand feet. A tee-shaped dock with hammocks under shade connects the boardwalk to a launching dock where your sea adventures begin. Sea kayaks are available to explore the many cayes and mangrove habitats of Central Belize. Moorings, sailboats and cruisers are welcome to visit Thatch Caye Resort for a meal at Thatch Central, ice, fresh water, provisions and dives!

The Accommodations
Thatch Caye guests can stay in a variety of island style accommodations:

Casitas (little homes) are elevated single story units with rooftop decks, complete with hammocks, so that you can catch the island breezes and savor the spectacular views. Thatch Caye Resort Casitas feature 1 king size bed (or 2 twin size beds), window seat day bed, 3 piece bath with hot and cold running water, wireless Internet, mini-fridge, ventilation fans, and rooftop patio with hammocks. Air conditioning is available in our casitas for $50 US/day

Cabanas with native thatch roofing and cool tile floors, are perfectly positioned to take advantage of the sea breezes and views of nearby islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Cabanas feature 1 king size bed (or 2 twin size beds), 3 piece bath with hot and cold running water, wireless Internet, ventilation fans and an over-water sundeck with hammocks

Family Villa accommodates groups of 4 to 6 guests perched high above the sea in 3 separate dwellings. Two spacious Cabanas with King or Twin beds and a Central Living Room with full sized Futon provide sleeping quarters for a full house. All 3 units have full baths and the centre building has ample seating and a small kitchenette. Indoor ceiling fans and outdoor decking and your personal Shade Palapa with Hammocks create Sea Breeze comfort year round.

Thatch Central is the main gathering place to Eat, Drink, Play, Read, Relax, Meet, and Mix in the warm glow of a handmade jungle hardwood Palapa.

The Diving!
Thatch Caye is a diver's delight! The Reef in Central and Southern Belize remains largely untouched. Our local dive sites are great examples of pristine variety. Group trips to The Blue Hole, Lighthouse Reef, Glovers Atoll and Whale Shark day trips are routine at Thatch Caye Resort.

Dive Prices and Policies

•Thatch Caye Resort requries a minimum of 2 divers
•Thatch Caye Resort normally takes guests for a 2-tank dive
•Thatch Caye Resort requires all guests on a Scuba Diving Package to carry DAN (Divers Alert Network) Insurance. A liability waiver and full disclosure of all medical conditions and medications is also requried.

Reservation Policy

25% deposit at the time of confirmation. Equal payments on remaining balance due on the 1st of each month with the remaining outstandning balance due in full 60 days prior to arrival. Children: 8-12 years old are 50% of adult package price.

Cancellation Policy

More than 90 days before arrival – 100% refund of deposit*, 31-89 days before arrival – forfeit 25% deposit*, less than 30 days before arrival – forfeit 100% of payment*

*$100 Administration Fee applies to all cancellations
