Assistant
Instructor
is
the
next
step
in
your
professional
dive
career
introducing
you
to
the
world
of
teaching.
The
PADI
Assistant
Instructor
course
is
a
conventional
sit-down
class
including
skill
work
in
confined
and
open
water.
It
is
designed
as
a
full
3-4
day
course,
but
can
be
scheduled
in
smaller
segments
over
a
period
of
time,
i.e.
2
weeks,
to
better
suit
people's
work
schedules
or
portions
of
the
course
may
be
completed
via
eLearning
for
a
slightly
higher
course
fee.
The
course
consists
of
knowledge
development
through
independent
study,
lectures,
various
types
of
workshops,
confined
water
skill
review
and
assessment,
candidate
presentations
(classroom,
pool,
and
open
water),
a
final
Standards
and
Procedures
exam,
and
more.
As
an
Assistant
Instructor
you
will
have
the
ability

Additionally, after
successful completion of the Assistant Instructor course,
you are qualified to attend the Opn Water Scuba Instructor
(OWSI)
training portion of a PADI Instructor Development Course
(IDC).

We will help you in pricing the materials you determine
you will need. Depending on the materials in need,
some may be available for use by you during your course
(keep in mind that all listed materials are also required
if you plan to continue on to Instructor), others may be
available for purchase.
Please be
reminded that upon successful completion of this course
and receipt of certification from PADI, you will need to
notify your professional liability insurance carrier to
have your policy modified to reflect your new professional
level before you take on any Assistant Instructor duties.
To
be eligible to participate in the Assistant Instructor Candidate
at Seven Seas Scuba, the following pre-requisites must be
met:

you
must be at least 18 years or older to start
the program

You
must be a PADI Divemaster
(or qualifying certification
from another organization)

You
must hold current professional liability insurance
-
You
must hold a current CPR certification
-
You
must be able to show proof of at least 60 logged
dives, including night, deep, and navigation
-
You
must have a completed Medical Statement (signed
by a physician) dated within the past 12 months
(note:
you will also be asked to provide this if you
decide to complete a full IDC and sit for an
Instructor Exam)

Being
an active Assistant Instructor leads you into the world
of instructing and for some it will be the first step in
continuing their education toward becoming PADI Open Water
Scuba Instructors. For others, it will be a natural
position to achieve a greater involvement in the experiences
and education of recreational scuba divers. We look
