Water Referral | Advanced
Open Water
Most
courses are designed around independent study, classroom sessions
(at the dive shop), and pool sessions (at Bally's Sports Club).
Most certification weekends are conducted in Hood Canal (WA).

Open
Water
OW
class involves independent study, class sessions and pool sessions.
You will receive your OW book at the time you sign up for class.
You will then study and complete the knowledge reviews before
each class. We will go over the knowledge reviews in the class
session, take a quiz over the chapter (the last class has a
50 question exam in place of a quiz), and then you will put
equipment together and enter the pool for skills that correspond
to the chapter discussed that day. At the end of the class sessions,
students will travel to Hood Canal for a weekend. Two Open Water
certification dives will be conducted on Saturday and two on
Sunday, for a total of four Open Water certification dives.
Students are responsible for their own travel arrangements,
lodging fees, beach access fees, weekend air fills, and food.
Class
price is $325 (wetsuit
training) or $395 (drysuit training), which includes
all educational materials, certificate card, and use of all
gear necessary for the pool and open water, except that we
do require students to own their own mask, fins & snorkel
by the open water weekend (student discount package pricing
available). Students have the opportunity to try out equipment
during pool sessions.

Open
Water Referral
Don't
have time for a full open water course? Are you headed on vacation
and want to complete your certification dives there? Then you
might be interested in a referral course. Referral course students
can attend the classroom and pool sessions only of the any Open
Water class. Certification dive are then conducted by a dive
shop/operator at your dive vacation destination.
Regularly
scheduled Open Water referral classes are $235,
which includes all educational materials, referral paperwork,
and use of all gear necessary for the pool.

Advanced
Open Water
AOW
class is an independent study course. You will receive your
AOW book at the time you sign up for class. You will then study
and complete the knowledge reviews for only the chapters corresponding
to the dives you will be making during your AOW course, which
include Night, Deep, and Navigation. The two elective dives
will be decided based on student request. We will go over the
knowledge reviews in the class session and conduct the dives
over a weekend in Hood Canal! Students are responsible for their
own travel arrangements, lodging fees, beach access fees, weekend
air fills, and food.
Class
price is $250, which includes
all educational materials and certification card. AOW
students are responsible for their own underwater lights in
connection with the Night dive. Some elective dives may carry
additional fees (e.g. underwater camera rental).
